Powder Coating is fast becoming one of the leading finishes used by custom motorcycle builders, as well as the do-it-yourself crowd. Powder Coating has been highly reccognized for its durability, cost effectiveness, and quick turn around time. This process is also very environmentally friendly as there is virtually no hazardous waste due to the fact that Powder coatings are applied as a dry material, thus emitting little to no Volatile Organic Compounds. (VOC)
One of the few drawbacks of Powder coating is that since the piece that the powder is to be applied needs to be able to withstand heat up to about 425 degrees to allow the curing process. And at present time, Dirty White Girl Coatings can only cure items with metallic properties. The industry is currently expanding to other areas such as plastic and wood, however, at this time we do not offer that service.
Dirty White Girl Coatings specializes in Powder Coating. Our primary focus is custom coating motorcycle parts and accessories. No longer only available in Black and a few other "primary" colors, the choices are rapidly increasing. There is an entire rainbow of glossy finishes, as well as an expanding assortment of Metallics and Transluscents. There is also the ever popular choice of flat black, with a High Temp version able to withstand heats of up to 1000 degrees. This is a popular choice for applications such as exhaust pipes. One of the more exciting options is with the use of a "clear" powder, which in essence has the same final effect of the traditional "clear coat." The clear may be applied over any other powder color to increase the shine and protect the finish, or it can be applied on it's own directly over bare metal or chrome.
